Happy New Year, friends

It’s 2015, and the past year has been one of loss and of elation
There’s a personal cost; I like many have lost part of life. This celebration
Gives a chance for the past to be over at last, though the memories saved will linger
As the ring on my hand makes its own wordless stand, having moved to right hand’s finger

But the new year’s upon us! It holds new life and promise and must be grasped and nourished
Opportunity’s there, but we have to prepare and until each new chance has flourished
I am seeing beyond the horizon and bonds that have formed of late are breaking
May I wish each of you a year happy and new, with much joy in your partaking
